On this episode I met with the divine Mea Campbell the founder of a social enterprise called Connected AU who works to connect isolated and lonely Australians.Mea stepped away from her Corporate Career in Law to start this purpose led organisation during Covid, helping vulnerable people in the community to ease their loneliness. One of the programs that sits within the platform is The Letterbox Project, a letter writing initiative that aims to bring meaningful connection to lonely and isolated Australians. In the first weeks of establishing The Letterbox Project, public support was overwhelming, with thousands signing up in the following weeks. Since then, in just over 12 months there have been 13,000 volunteer letter writers, (including corporates, schools and the general public) and more than 500 letters are currently sent each week. She also just recently secured Tetley Tea as a major brand partner to support their ongoing mission.Mea talks to us today about what inspired this movement, the work and continuous effort it has taken to get her to this moment, and how it feels reflecting on the last 12 months where for the first time in her life she is being fuelled by her true purpose and unwavering passion to help.I truly loved Mea’s drive and mission, and I am sure you will too.To get involved in The Letterbox Project and connect with some community groups if you are feeling isolated and alone click here: www.connectedau.com.au
