What did Jesus mean by the time is fulfilled in verse 15?What was significant about repent and believe the gospel to the Jew at the time prior to the death and resurrection of Jesus?Mark seems to take us quickly through the meeting of Jesus with the fishermen - did they possibly know each other already?Fishers of men? What? When? Who?Hired servants? Did these fishermen have a good moneymaking business?Meaning - major takeaways we have gained from this text (not exclusive - just our notes)John the Baptist - Mark emphasizes who Jesus is by showing us John. John's life summarizes the priorities of Jesus.Jesus IS the Good NewsJesus has authority - He is worth following Application - what does this text mean FOR me not necessarily TO meBelieve in the good news!Come after me - not as equals, discipleship for the sake of others - He is worth everything!Group Questions:What do you think was the major attraction for these fishermen to follow Jesus so quickly?What would be the hardest thing for you to leave behind if called?What does Discipleship for the Sake of Others mean?
