What is the significance of baptism to the Jewish people at the time? What was the call to repentance about?What is the meaning of water baptism vs the baptism of the Holy Spirit as Mark commented concerning Jesus?Meaning - major takeaways we have gained from this text (not exclusive - just our notesGod's Son was prophesied People were ready for him, hungry for a messiah. Jesus is much more than a prophet - Ezekiel 36:25-27 - came to baptize with the Holy SpiritJesus will change everything and does...we are all subject to this Kingdom whether we like it or not.Application - what does this text mean FOR me not necessarily TO meWhat does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus is a question we should always ask ourselves.Knowing that God planned Jesus to come rescue me and walk with me makes me want to walk closer to Jesus.What can we model about Jesus in this passage? Hard to answer for this passage due to its content of proclamation.How can we uplift Jesus? He is the Son of God, He is the Gospel!
