New #TeesMe podcast episode alert with Inventor Alan Johnson Alan Johnson, champion am golfer and inventor: Born in Detroit Michigan, Alan grew up submersed in the golf world thanks to his grandfather, PGA Teaching Pro Sie Willis, Jr. Alan picked up his first club at 8 years old and was helping run the pro shop and playing competitive junior golf at 10. He played varsity golf throughout high school receiving multiple scholarship offers to HBCUs, NCAA Division 1 and NAIA universities. Alan earned an associate degree in Mechanical Engineering and a bachelor’s in Telecommunications. In 2009 Alan interned with the PGA Tour as a writer for Golf Week Magazine in Orlando, FL. And in 2012 Alan turned pro and landed a 6-month sponsorship to play on the mini-tour circuit of Central and Southern Florida. At the conclusion of the sponsorship he returned to work as a Millwright construction engineer for Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, MI. Alan started coaching and playing competitively in his free time with victories on both local and national levels including winning the Detroit Am Open in 2017 and 2019. Alan’s extensive background in golf and mechanical engineering helped him develop and patented his first putting aid that was introduced at the 2018 Michigan Golf Show. Rebranded as NeuraPutt Aim and Pace Trainer. NeuraPutt successfully launched at the PGA Merchandise Show in 2020. Golf Digest Magazine recognized the NeuraPutt as the best new putting aid of 2020.
