The debate over voting rights Republicans have made a point to render difficult cannot possibly be construed as good for democracy by any measure. Democratic countries across the world strive to make it easier for everyone to participate. In America, Republicans exclusively have used every weapon in their arsenal to make it truly difficult for people to participate in the democracy experiment. It is no wonder a doomsday is predicted for America. To most, a doomsday prediction can only be conceived in the minds of lunatics. Some refuse to believe America will fall; others admit it is in decline but will never suffer such fate, and yet others - those who are actually responsible - shrug off the idea altogether.
