What is language, communication and counselling? Why do we communicate? What role does the language we communicate in during a counselling session play towards narrative healing?. As far as we’re concerned “language” refers to the standardised written and spoken language. Communication scholars divide the “language” of communication into three primary categories, namely verbal, nonverbal and written communication. Counselling on the other hand according to Oxford dictionary is the provision of professional assistance and guidance in resolving personal or psychological problems. Why do we communicate?
