Episode 59 of the conversations between Dr. Yogita Pant and Dr. Anil Chawla describes some key events at the start of Yuddhishthir’s Raajsooy yagy. When all the kings and other dignitaries assembled, Bheeshm asked Yuddhishthir to start with offering pooja to the assembled kings. He also instructed Yuddhishthir to first of all offer pooja to the one who was most powerful and the best among all present. Yuddhishthir asked Bheeshm for guidance about who was most deserving of being worshipped before all present. Bheeshm told that undoubtedly Vaasudev Krishn deserved the honour. Based on that, Sahdev offered pooja to Krishn and Krishn graciously accepted the pooja. This infuriated Chediraaj Shishupaal who loudly protested against it calling Krishn’s pooja as an open insult to all the kings who were present there. Yuddhishthir tried to calm Shishupaal down. Bheeshm stopped Yuddhishthir. He took a hard line against Shishupaal and defended his decision of offering first pooja to Krishn. Sahdev added to the hard line set by Bheeshm and challenged to a fight anyone who disagreed with the decision. Hearing this, Shishupaal and some of his friends started preparing for war. Mahabharat and Valmiki Ramayan are the two fundamental foundation epics of Hinduism. Mahabharat teaches one about every aspect of life. The struggle in the epic is the clash between two different life-values. Dwaipaayan Krishn and Vaasudev Krishn put in relentless and continuous efforts to establish and strengthen the same fundamental values and ideals for which Ram fought the war against Raavan. By learning and understanding this story and by adopting the learnings into our behaviour we can make our life happy and rich.
