The FCS semifinals return to Fargo after a two year absence as North Dakota State will welcome in rival school James Madison University for a trip to the FCS championship game.   This will mark the fourth all-time playoff matchup between the schools, the first being ten years ago in the second round, a Bison 26-14 win.   The Dukes got some payback in 2016, when they returned to Fargo for the semifinals and beat NDSU 27-17, ending the Bison five year title streak.   The schools have met two more times in Frisco, Texas. The 2018 title game saw NDSU end JMU's 26 game win streak with a 17-13 win. They met again in Frisco to wrap the 2019 season and it was another tremendous game, with the Bison getting a late turnover to beat the Dukes, 28-20.
