Ketorolac belongs to a class of medications known as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Unlike other NSAIDs, ketorolac is available in both oral and injectable forms, allowing for flexible administration based on the severity of the pain. It works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, which are responsible for inflammation and pain sensation. By reducing the levels of prostaglandins, ketorolac provides analgesia, anti-inflammatory effects, and reduces fever.
