For this month’s edition of KEEP IT LOCKED, we had the pleasure of speaking to Grime Legend Treble Clef! What can we say about Treble Clef that hasn’t already been said? Treble Clef is a London based producer who can play various instruments the main ones being piano, saxophone, & Bass. Debuting in 2003 with Grime Instrumental Ghetto Kyote, Treble Clef and Ghetto Kyote has stood the test of time. Ghetto Kyote is widely considered a Grime classic and Treble Clef continues to play a vital part in the growth of Grime. As a DJ/Producer getting on a Treble Clef show is usually the first doors news MCs must get through. Over the years Treble Clef has had the likes of Elf Kid, Novelist, Big Zuu, Faultsz, Logan, and Micofcourse, on his radio shows and they have all gone on to have successfully careers in music. Since 2003 Treble Clef has dropped Treble’s Diary, Cake & Bread, and now, Lost and Found. In 2015 Treble Clef released the Cake & Bread EP, which featured the Trumpet Boom, a song that matched, if not exceeded, the popularity of Ghetto Kyote, becoming another one of the Grimes most popular instrumentals. Throughout the years Treble Clef has stuck to his musical principles, and you can hear his musical fusion of complex melodies, guitar samples, fluttering synths and bass on his productions. Lost & Found is a 8-track instrumental produced between 2014 – 2017. These instrumental are thought to be lost. but Treble found the parts in 2019 and decided to share them before the decade ended.
