Erin and Lawrence welcome special guest, Chiene' Joy Jones a prominent member of the basketball community, more specifically the women’s basketball community of NYC! Chiene uses her own story to create and carry out solutions for the issues many of our young lady student-athletes face today, and offers her own company Grow Our Game as one of the many ways she is working within and for the inner-city community. The trio dig deep and address today’s issues of Covid-19, the Black Lives Matter Movement, Virtual Learning & Fitness, Black on Black crime, Policing the community, and even distractions like Will, Jada, and the idea of a relationship or an entanglement. The topic of top athletes playing for HBCU’s even crosses the table. Though we typically discuss a whole lot of issues on Beyond the Journal, this is an episode full of solutions and “get it done” talk.
