There are things in God’s Word that are absolutely amazing! Jesus became a man. Born to a virgin woman. He humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! Because of that… Philippians 2:9 9Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Then the prophet Isaiah gives us names that describe Jesus. Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. I’ve shared with you many times how precious the redemptive names are to me in my worship time. There are 7 Redemptive names that open and disclose the benefit package that Jesus purchased for everyone of us at the cross. Let me briefly review them with you. His continual Presence JEHOVAH-SHAMMAH Shepherd, Guide, Protector, Nourisher JEHOVAH-RA-AH Peace, wholeness, Salvation JEHOVAH-SHALOM Righteousness JEHOVAH-TSIDKENU Victory JEHOVAH-NISSI Healing JEHOVAH-RAPHA Provider JEHOVAH-JIREH John 3:16 describes Jesus as God’s Gift. Jesus the Lamb of God that was come to save the world from their sin. Luke 3:16 describes Jesus as the baptizer. He explains that I baptize you with water, but He will baptize you with fire. John 1:32 NIV Then John gave this testimony: “I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him. 33 And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’ I love to begin my prayer time by thanking God using His name and names that describe His nature. But I don’t think I have ever used the descriptive word “baptizer” for Him. I am so thankful that Jesus is still the baptizer. He still wants to baptize believers with the Holy Spirit. Jesus still want to baptize believers with the Holy Spirit and fire. I am so thankful!
