Thomas closes hour one of this Wednesday edition of The Jon Chuckery Show featuring Thomas Mott by talking about all the changes happening in College Football right now with Jakob Brandenburg of CBS Sports in Texas. Thomas starts things off by asking Jakob what he thinks about the accusation the Big 12 are making against ESPN. Jakob responds by saying, “It’s wild accusations.” Jakob also says, “The motive would be there, but it’s hard to believe.” Brandenburg finishes his thought by saying, “It seems like he’s playing catchup, and trying to save his butt, and the league’s butt.” Next, Thomas asks Jakob if he thinks Oklahoma and Texas can start winning in the SEC right away? Jakob responds by saying “Oklahoma could just stay in the Big 12 and make the playoff every year as they have been.” Jakob also says, “I think the thing is the money is just so different being in the SEC.” Brandenburg continues by saying, “I don’t think it matters whether they are able to compete or not.” Jakob finishes his thought by saying, “I think Oklahoma will be more ready to compete, but what’s that look like 3 losses or 2 losses?” Thomas continues things by asking Jakob if you were a school other than Texas and Oklahoma in the Big 12 what would you do? Brandenburg responds by saying, “I think they all need to be assuming the Big 12 is done for.” Jakob finishes his thought by saying, “They need to assume that without Texas and Oklahoma the Big 12 isn’t going to survive, so these other teams need to be reaching out to the Pac-12 and the ACC.” Thomas keeps the College Football questions coming for Jakob asking him is a mega conference good for College Football? Jakob responds by saying “No, I don’t think it ruins it.” Brandenburg continues by saying, “It’s going to be good for College Football because who doesn’t want to see Oklahoma vs. Alabama and then Alabama vs. Florida next week.” Jakob finishes his thought by saying, “It’s not going to totally ruin the small schools.” Thomas switches gears to the NFL, and asks Jakob what it felt like to him to hear Aaron Rodgers rip the Green Bay Packers to shreds? Jakob responds by saying, “It was great to hear an NFL quarterback be so honest and transparent. It was great to hear what was bothering Aaron.” Brandenburg also says, “It showed that the Green Bay Packers have mismanaged him his entire career.” Jakob finishes his thought by saying, “It showed that the Green Bay Packers also have mismanaged guys who Aaron Rodgers care about such as Randall Cobb and Clay Matthews.” Finally, Thomas wraps things up with Jakob by asking him what destinations makes sense for Aaron Rodgers if he does leave Green Bay after this season. Jakob says, “LA makes sense, he would be closer to his movie star girlfriend.” Brandenburg continues by saying, “Denver has good young skill players, so Denver makes sense.” Jakob finishes his thought by saying, “Vegas has been talked about, again its close to the west coast, and he’s even talked about them needing to win a championship.” See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
