Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgery has some risks and complications, just like any other major surgical procedure. Most risks are very minor and can be treated easily. One of the main risks includes infection after ACL surgery. Infection may occur in around 1%–2% of cases, diagnosed with antibiotics or surgical intervention if critical.

Some of the noticeable symptoms of infection after ACL Surgery include inflammation, redness and dryness around the intervened area, distress pain, and swelling.
