Just 25% of hospitals are adhering to the Price Transparency Rule
The Hospital Price Transparency Rule1, effective January 1, 2021, mandates hospitals to publish a machine-readable file of standard charges for all services and all payers, along with a standard display of prices or a price estimator tool for the 300 most common shoppable services.
Out of 2,000 U.S. hospitals examined for compliance with the Hospital Price Transparency Rule
- 24.5% (489) met all the requirements
- 75.5% were non-compliant due to incomplete, illegible, or unclearly associated files, hindering patients, purchasers, and developers from comparing prices, making informed decisions, and detecting errors, overcharges, and fraud.
In this podcast we will identify the reason why the Price transparency rule is essential for better patient experience and how can hospitals easily comply with this rule
