It’s important to grow leaders. This can happen through creating an environment where the leadership team learns principle-based leadership that reflects the president’s values. Leaders can be driven by ego or principles. The former makes leaders feel like they are indispensable; however, this philosophy can make it different for decisions to be made when the leader is not on campus. The principle-based leadership model not only solves this issue, but also helps grow a cadre of leaders at different levels of the organization.
