This week God told me to "be present." I asked Him how, and this is the message I've been inspired to preach on today. I don't think being present is the goal, as much as it is the product of reaching the goal. I think the real goal is learning how to not linger in the past nor worry about the future. For many of us, we received an identity that was forced onto us by the world before we could even discover who we really were. For me, it was the “churchboy”. Throughout life I’ve learned that we are not who the world says we are, but are all individuals whose identities were given to us by God.
