Welcome back moms, dads, healers and helpers around the world!  In today's episode we are going to be talking about preventing mental health problems for our little ones.  One thing I have learned over the course of my work with Infants and Toddlers is that when we are able to intervene with little ones we are essentially preventing future mental health problems. We are also preventing lifelong mental health issues from developing and occurring for them down later in life too! That is a bold statement, I know - but it’s a true statement. We will cover how the following stressors may cause mental health problems for our little ones: Genetics Trauma DV Dangerous Parenting Chronic Stress Insecure/Disorganized Attachment In-Utero Trauma Birth Trauma Hospital Stays Unsafe/Traumatic Environment Untreated parental mental health problems/trauma Separation/Disruption in Relationships Environmental and Psychosocial Stressors I will talk about how to prevent these stressors and what you can do about it as their primary caregiver. You don't want to miss this because I give some practical ways of being present for your little one in your daily routine/lives. You will also hear from the baby's perspective where we talk about how to avoid the stressors that cause mental health issues for them!   If you'd like the PDF's transcripts of the Baby Perspective segment that you can share with families you work with or use to reflect on after listening to the episode, you can download it and other resources here: Raising Baby Podcast: FREE Resources Please make sure you subscribe and review on iTunes and Google Play!
