SERMON POINT #1 – SOMETHING IS WORTH WHAT SOMEONE ELSE IS WILLING TO PAY FOR IT SERMON PIONT #2 – HOSEA’S NAME IN HEBREW MEANS “SALVATION” Romans 5:8 – “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Hosea 1:2 - “When the Lord began to speak through Hosea, the Lord said to him, “Go, marry a promiscuous woman and have children with her, for like an adulterous wife this land is guilty of unfaithfulness to the Lord.” Hosea 1:3 – “So he married Gomer, daughter of Diblaim and she conceived and bore him a son.” SERMON POINT #3 – GOMER’S NAME IN HEBREW MEANS “COMPLETION” SERMON POINT #4 – GOD TOOK SALVATION AND COMPLETION AND JOINED THEM TOGETHER Hosea 3:1 – “The Lord said to me, “Go, show your love to your wife again, though she is loved by another man and is an adulteress. Love her as the Lord loves the Israelites, though they turn to other gods and love the sacred raisin cakes.” Hosea 3:2 – “So I bought her for fifteen shekels of silver and about a homer and a lethek of barley.” SERMON POINT #5 – HOSEA WAS WILLING TO PURCHASE WHAT ALREADY BELONGED TO HIM Psalm 24:1 (NLT) – “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him.” Hosea 3:3 – “Then I told her, “You are to live with me many days; you must not be a prostitute or be with any man, and I will be have the same way toward you.” 1 John 4:10 (NLT) – “This is real love – not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.”
