In each of the podcasts there is a lot of talk about food this this show was no exception.For many Italian-American families a big Christmas Eve meal is The Feast of the Seven Fishes….Common types of fish eaten in the feast include…Baccala (salted Cod) Clams, Calamari, Sardines and Eel. Some theories why the seven fishes because they represent the seven days of creation in the Bible…others say it represents the 7 sacraments. (After the show was recorded, Jay had to have a fish dinner.)In Hungary Christmas Eve is very important and is called Szent-este which means Holy Evening. People spend the evening with their family and decorate the Christmas Tree. Finally, We couldn’t mention all these other countries without speaking of Christmas in the U.S. Because we are such a melting pot of cultures. Our Christmas here can be very unique to regions as well as families. Each family celebrates in their own way.
