Bye The Book

Education

In this first episode of Bye the Book, hosts Collette Bowers Zinn (Zinn Education Management) and Rob Evans (The Independent School Alliance) interview two longtime educators to get their take on a real life case study coming out of the New York Times article, “A Teacher Made a Hitler Joke in the Classroom. It Tore the School Apart.” Barbara Wagner (Former Head of School, Marlborough School) and James Busby (Former Head of School, Buckley School) join the discussion and offer their insights on a number of topics in schools including communication, the implications of the political environment, diversity, equity and inclusion, and “safe spaces” all within the context of a few school decisions that challenged an entire Quaker school community.
