Find out more about Chrystyna at http://www.inktreks.com/ Chrystyna Lucyk-Berger is a Ukrainian-American Minnesotan Austrian transplant. Born in 1969, she grew up in the culture-rich neighborhood of "Nordeast" Minneapolis. She started her writing career with short stories, travel narratives, worked as a journalist and managing magazine editor before jumping the desk and pursuing her own writing and traveling. In 2005, she debuted with a historical narrative based on her relatives' personal histories and experiences in Ukraine during WWII. After stints in Turkey and Poland, she moved to western Austria and established her own company. She writes historical fiction from her Alpine hut in Austria. The Reschen Valley series is based on the South Tyrolean-Italian conflict during the interwar period and was inspired by her travels to the Reschen Reservoir. Her collection of short stories, which "reads like a novel" won the silver medal in the IPPY Book Awards 2020. She is currently working on two more WW2 novels with Eastern Front settings, and the next book in the Reschen Valley series.
