The majority of these species are found in nature as wild mangoes. The genus belongs to the cashew family Anacardiaceae. Mangoes are native to South Asia,[1][2] from where the "common mango" or "Indian mango", Mangifera indica, has been distributed worldwide to become one of the most widely cultivated fruits in the tropics. It is the national fruit of India and Pakistan, and the national tree of Bangladesh.[3] It is the unofficial national fruit of the Philippines.[4]   Etymology and history[edit] The English word "mango" (plural "mangoes" or "mangos") originated from the Malayalam word māṅṅa (or mangga) via Dravidian-Tamil மாங்காய் (or maanguy, literally meaning "highest fruit") during the spice trade period with South India in the 15th and 16th centuries. ref: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mango   Mango skin, bark and leaves contain the same toxic substance, urushiol, as in poison ivy.  ref:https://web.extension.illinois.edu/cfiv/homeowners/120726.html   Music: Drop Baby Drop - Mango Company https://youtu.be/bsLcnvnAt68   From Spectrum CookSpace channel Origins of Mangos in Hawaii Wanda Adams: Food Historian and Author   A partial list of the some varieties Ambrosia Baptiste Carrie Cogshell Cushman Excellent Fairchild Glenn Graham Haden Ice Cream Julie Keitt Lancetilla Lemon Meringue Lil Gem Mallika Manilita Nam Doc Mai Neelum Okrung Okrung Tong Pickering Rosigold Rapoza Venus ref: https://toptropicals.com/html/toptropicals/articles/fruit/varieties_mango.htm     KHON 2 has 2 stories   “Homeowners want people to ask before picking mango” https://youtu.be/ErPL4VDThkY   Mango Jam Honolulu Gina Mangiardi interviews Misty Kalai of Mayors office of Cultures and Arts https://youtu.be/VPFRlIfOR_k     Mango Jam June 21 4-9p 550 S. Article: Jumping Jupiter by Mike Lynch The king of the planets, at least in our solar system, has made a grand entrance into our early summer skies, and will continue to dominate the early evening heavens well into October. A couple of weeks ago, our Earth and Jupiter reached their closest approach to each other. Back then Jupiter was a little over 398 million miles away, but it’s still plenty close at just under 400 million miles. It’s by far the largest planet in our solar system, with an equatorial diameter of 88,000 miles, dwarfing our Earth’s 7,900 miles. In fact, if Jupiter were a hollow sphere you could fill it with about 1,200 Earths! (12 years to obit the sun… hmmmmm)   Jupiter/Planet Jupiter Song for Kids/Planet Songs for Kids/Solar System Songs for Children   https://youtu.be/zMCDl1Asm_c   From Post Bulletin: https://www.postbulletin.com/life/lifestyles/starwatch-jupiter-s-jumping-in/article_00eeaa84-8792-11e9-a8d0-9b8d30c786e8.html   Surf this week: North 1-2 South 1-2 rising monday 3 possible 4 East 2-3 West 1-2   - No Marine warnings - Sailing report is fair to poor with a wind shift / regime change ESE with early morning breezes…. but the trade will not return till next thursday. - Best diving: north shores shallow and deep.
