Genesis 3:6-10 - When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves. Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LordGod among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?” He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.” Genesis 3:21 – The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them. 2 Corinthians 7:10 – Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. SERMON POINT #1 – Guilt says, “I did something bad.” SERMON POINT #2 – Shame says, “I am bad.” Luke 22:59-61 – About an hour later another asserted, “Certainly this fellow was with him, for he is a Galilean.” Peter replied, “Man, I don’t know what you’re talking about!” Just as he was speaking, the rooster crowed. The Lord turned and looked straight at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word the Lord had spoken to him: “Before the rooster crows today, you will disown me three time.” And he went outside and wept bitterly. Philippians 1:6 – being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Jesus Christ. John 3:17 – For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
