Education

In this second of two episodes centered on creativity, Dr. Autumn Graves, Head of School at Girls Preparatory School, interviews a variety of women who all have one thing in common: a love for dance.  Part I: GPS Dance teachers Cathie Ault Kasch '72 and Laurel Moore Zahrobsky '90 discuss the fundamentals of teaching and learning dance at GPS. They highlight the elements of improvisation and critique that not only prepare girls for other arenas but which can increase her empathy. Part II: GPS Alumna Caroline Puri '97 reflects on her experience as a member of Terpsichord, the contemporary dance company at GPS, and the ways her dance background has been helpful in her entrepreneurial endeavors. Part III: Prior to matriculating at Vanderbilt University, Charlotte Whitfield '16 sat down with Dr. Graves to talk about the ways in which her involvement in Terpsichord shaped the person she is.
