Miscellaneous
Gillian comes from a long line of doers. In fact, “just keep going when times get tough," was sort of a family trait. When depression hit in high school, she did what she knew best, keep forging ahead and keep achieving. By the time she reached university, however, years of stuffing it down had taken its toll, which led to an emotional crash. Gillian talks about how this became a turning point in her life, ultimately setting her on a path towards health and wellness. Together we discuss the woo-woos of mindfulness meditation, our evolving identities, and get into the nitty-gritty of motherhood and gender inequality. We also ponder the question, “What would be different if men were the ones giving birth?” I bet there’d be a prize at the end.You can find more information on Gillian, The Present Mom Project, or any of her other services, at www.motherzen.ca, or follow her at www.instagram.com/zengillian.If you have comments or feedback for the show, I'd love to hear from you!
