One of Rabindranath Tagore’s best works is Ghare Baire, which means Home and Outside or (Home and the World). This was published in 1916 in Tagore’s native language Bengali. The story presents an interesting conflict between the difference in ideologies of 2 friends and the impact it had on the wife of one of the friends. Rabindranath also presents an interesting view of the Swadeshi movement that was gaining popularity during that time. The story revolves around the ideologies and emotions of 3 primary characters; Nikhil, Bimala and Sandip.
