Miscellaneous
Miss Meena is an original play created by Perch and Rafiki in 2010. This was filmed a year and half ago during a show in Kerala. We have been sharing a lot of music, and thought the timing quite apt to share some music that we have helped create. All the music and songs in Miss Meena have been written, set to music and performed by the entire cast. The play itself is inspired by the Visit, a play by Friedrich Durrenmatt. Written by the inimitable Rashmi Ruth Devadasan, and directed by the dont you dare you use any adjectives before my name Rajiv Krishnan, Miss Meena is a classic tale of revenge immersed in the magic and lure of cinema. the play allows the actors to use any languages they are comfortable with, which you can see in this song itself. the play is mostly in english but also uses tamil, kannada, hindi, and a sprinkle or two of more languages. after 18 shows in rangashankara over the last two years, miss meena returns to bangalore. do come if you can. there is a lot more song and dance and colour and magic, all in all a good fun play. hope you enjoy it =) more on the groups perch and rafiki can be found at www.perch.co.in and www.rafiki.in FRIDAY RELEASE is an endeavour to share raw footage from the u-ra-mi-li project. We'd like to give you a sample of the kind of stories we have and are looking for; some of these stories may make their way into the final film, others won't. Do tell us what you like, what you don't, what links you see between different kinds of music or visuals, what you've seen before, or what the clip reminds you of.
