Teacher vs. Self-Teaching Listen as I weigh the pros and cons of each. OUTLINE Private Tutor/Teacher PROS Has advanced knowledge of the language and can answer questions that might not be in the book you're learning from Can clarify things that might be in the book that you're having difficulty understanding Plus is a native teacher can advise you on the culture of the language CONS Can cost money - around $30/30 min May not be a good fit for your personally Self-Teaching PROS You can dictate or create your own curriculum or plan You get to decide how much money you will contribute to your journey CONS There will be some things you will miss out on and you have to be ok with that. If you're not, seek a tutor on that particular issue that you're having a problem with. You will have to take TIME to create your own curriculum. If you can't do that, seek a language learning coach to guide you. You might have to adjust your curriculum often before you get it right.
