The Tarot is a light-hearted horror film that is perfect for sleepovers, although it lacks depth when it comes to character and story development. When the group of friends runs out of beer, Elise stumbles upon an unusual deck of cards in the house and urges Haley to tap into her tarot abilities. Despite Haley's warning about using someone else's cards, she succumbs to peer pressure. Through Haley's readings, the dynamics within the group are illuminated: Grant is a kind-hearted man who is still recovering from his breakup with Haley, Paxton provides comic relief, Paige is the responsible one, Lucas is a risk-taker, and Madeline uses the tarot as an escape from her problems.
