Thairapy with Doux or Dye Salon

Arts

This session of Thairpy we talk about art. In what seems like a never ending era of gentrification we attempt to explore the exposure of African American visual art and cultural spaces in the African American community and how to preserve them. Visual arts and museums detail the multifaceted areas of our beautiful and often complicated stories. Where slavery and drug addiction collide with triumph and bible belt faith practices. How do we preserve and protect our narratives? One of the ways is through the visual griot. Here we are allowed to see our feelings and thoughts. Who are your favorite artist? What museums are a must for cultural soul feeding? Hair is my canvas, the shop is where my exhibits are created and curated. How do you explore Black art and cultural spaces?
