In this episode we discuss the role of exercise and education in the treatment and prevention of chronic conditions including chronic pain. Our head physio at Reach, Andreas Hessner is joined by Søren Skou, physiotherapist and professor of exercise and human health. Søren has vast experience within the field of osteoarthritis and is one of the main architects and leader of the implementation of the highly successful treatment program Good Life With osteoArthritis in Denmark (GLA:D) for patients with knee and hip osteoarthritis. Søren has also recently initiated a 5-year EU-funded project (MOBILIZE) with the overall aim of improving health in people with more than one chronic health condition (i.e. multimorbidity) through personalised exercise therapy and education.Reach is a digital physiotherapy service, that helps people better manage their pain through exercise, education and daily physio support, all delivered through the Reach Physio app (which we are very proud of!). In our first year alone, we have had more than 8000 people use the app - just check out our TrustPilot reviews!Søren Skou's profile: SDU Research PortalFollow Søren on Twitter @STSkouIf you struggle with chronic pain and other MSK conditions, or know someone who does, SUBSCRIBE to our podcast and social media channels for more insight like this.
