Hello People welcome to episode 29 of the When In Yorkshire Podcast. This is another double feature and the penultimate episode recorded at Leeds Festival in 2019 featuring conversations with Hull Based singer CHARLOTTE and my first return guest, the voice and eyes of BBC Introducing Yorkshire and Humberside, Alan Raw. Both of these conversations show what a great resource and platform the BBC Introducing shows are as CHARLOTTE was chosen by Alan and the BBC Introducing team to play Reading and Leeds festivals as were dozens of other bands this year and this is just one of the festivals that are supported by and support the show. In her own words, CHARLOTTE produces soul music with her own modern, accessible twist. Her voice is great both recorded and live and she has a great presence and fantastic charisma on stage. We chatted about her musical upbringing, and how she has been performing from a young age in arenas as well as more recent high profile shows with the likes of Lewis Capaldi. If you’re looking for something new and exciting then do check her out. https://www.facebook.com/iamcharl0tte/ www.youtube.com/watch?v=1oTxWFZrHSM The second part with Alan Raw covers the many roles he has within the BBC Introducing team from discovering and choosing artists to appear at the festival, broadcasting live, introducing the acts on stage and taking the photographs of not only the introducing stage but the whole festival. He was a busy man and it was lovely to catch a few minutes with him again. https://www.facebook.com/BBCintroducing/ https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p010j8y5
