NICU nurse and local baker, who also happens to be Dan's wife, Lea Meyer (@leamayj) joins as special guest. You'll get to hear a brief background on how Dan and Lea met while serving as camp counselors in college and what the transition to Houston has been like 3 years in.In this episode, Lea shares her commonalities with Houston celebrity chef, Chris Shepherd (hint: it is not what you think!) We also get to hear about Lea's experience growing up in Nebraska and what the local fare looks like back home. Among other things, Lea gives us a behind the scenes look at starting her baking business, Goldie Gourmand (@goldiegourmand), and we get an update/review on some recent Hit List spots Mark and Dan got to try last weekend during our second straight Cocktail Hour, in which we make a classic Houston favorite cocktail. We hope you have as much fun listening as we did recording! As always, please be sure to connect with us on Instagram @foodstonpod or email us at foodstonpodcast@gmail.com.
