Being an only child has its perks. But life gets REAL as an ADULT only child when you fully grasp the prospect of having to balance your own life with sole responsibility for assisting your parents as they age. Caregiving can place strains on your family, career, and mental and physical health. Siblings can tackle this as a team. But as an only child, how will you handle the stress of bearing sole responsibility for financial decisions, hospital visits and/or emergencies of aging parents?
