As particles collide with gasses in our Earth’s atmosphere, they produce tiny flashes that fill the sky with colourful light. Billions of tiny collisions occur in sequence and the flashes appear to dance in the sky. Green, pink, red or blue, thousands of people travel to northern Canada during the winter for a chance to witness the ribbons of neon lights as the midnight sun begins to dim.
