Episode 116! This week, we chat with returning guest, Ben! In a surprising turn of events, we're all drinking red wine - Ben's having a Spanish red wine, La Sonriente Garnacha, from Trader Joe's, J's having Encosta das Perditzes, a Portuguese red wine, and K is having a Super Tuscan Italian red wine, made from a non-Italian grape. This week we're talking about what it's been like working on an urban college campus during COVID. Topics include: exhaustion, planning and replanning events, following school-imposed COVID protocols, questioning one's vocation, institutions in survival mode rather than being driven by mission, social injustices uncovered by the pandemic, administration ideals vs. daily realities, and Ben's awesome IG story shares. Ben got to go to tap dance classes in studio recently and is taking piano lessons, K is testing out a DIY Macrame kit from our friend Christine, and J finished her crochet Mickey ears and made matching mask lanyards and made a bear sweater! J is happy Jen got her cat sweater, Ben is excited for a former student, Qualeasha Wood, whose work is going to be on the cover of Art in America magazine, and K is celebrating healthy boundary-setting! Get vaccinated! Be a good human! Cheers! We need your thoughts/whines/comments/questions or projects for our next listener episode!
