Welcome to the rise podcast. Rise is a contemporary service at the First United Methodist Church of Escondido. We are a gathering of spiritual sojourners walking in the way of Jesus learning to love God and our neighbors as we best we can. On this season of the Rise podcast, we invite you to join us as we explore what Advent is, the meaning behind it, and how we can begin to discover the deep joy of heaven touching earth. Each week during our advent series you can expect a meditation that will help you ground and lean into our theme, a round table discussion about the liturgy of advent— giving practical ideas and discussion for you and your family, and finally a special musical performance by our dear friend Talip Peshkapia. This week we sit down and have a round table discussion about slowing down for Advent. We each are coming to the table with different personalities and in different seasons of life so slowing down looks a little different for each of us.  We would love for you to be a part of the conversation! Follow us on instagram @rise.here or join us for worship and conversation every Sunday at 10am at FUMC Escondido. All are loved and all are welcome.
