Through all the long and lonely years trapped in addiction, I lived in fear of the darkness within me. But then, inspired by my fiancée and a sermon, I turned and faced my greatest fear: I looked into the darkness and attempted to exhume light. How? By writing. I began writing daily logs detailing the successes, failures, triumphs and tribulations I faced in my daily war to overcome addiction. I had no idea the Odyssey that I had begun – an Odyssey that would not only pass through the darkness of addiction, but to the very precipice of death itself.
