Tommy, the one who used to work on the docks (Another Music Lyric) TV Draft Update ABC's Last Man Standing came out of the gate strong, boasting 12.8 million viewers and making it ABC's biggest 8PM comedy debut in over seven years! Not only that, but it's retained 90 percent of its premiere audience and has actually grown 5 percent in the elusive Male 18-34 demographic. This has to be a blow to Matt, who guessed that the show was destined for mid-season failure. Also from ABC, Man Up had a steady premiere, receiving 7.78 Million Viewers and actually improved ABC's Tuesday 8:30PM year-to-year ratings across key demographics. Only time will tell if the show will continue to keep its steam, or if Matt will receive points for a mid-season cancellation! Additionally, Revenge from the same network was given a full season pick-up, and the only one who is not entitled to any points thus far is Nikki, as she guessed the show was doomed to fail by mid-season. However, Amby guessed?Full seaso? while Matt and Cody both anticipated a renewal, so it's still anyone's points to receive. Suburgatory, another ABC show, was also given a full season pick-up, much to the chagrin of all the hosts as each person guessed it would be cancelled by mid-season. I mean, come on, how stupid is the premise of that show?! Continuing with the decent news for ABC, the show Happy Endings had an additional script ordered, rounding out the show's total to six episodes. According to the network, the show is doing well, but not well enough to merit a full-season (or even half-season) pick-up. Each host guessed the show would be given a full season order, however, inviting all of us to anxiously wait for news regarding the show. Unfortunately the news isn't all positive for the network. Charlie's Angels failed to live up to its late-70's predesessor and was cancelled after airing only four episodes. Both Matt and Nikki predicted that the show would ride the Nostalgia Train to Full Season Station, but neglected to take into account whether people would actually care to go along for the ride and will receive no points added to their overall score. Amby and Cody both guessed?Mid-seaso? and will be adding points to their score. Elsewhere, on The CW, the much-anticipated (by Nikki) H8R premiered and was cancelled within three weeks, dealing a crushing blow to everyone's overall score as the consensus was that the show would be renewed. Everyone will probably want to blame Nikki for this, since she championed so hard for the initial premise of the show, but she didn't force them to pick "renewal" along with her, so they should accept the heavy burden that is egg on their face. However, the news isn't all bad for The CW's shows, despite always coming up dead last in the ratings week-to-week. Ringer, Heart of Dixie and The Secret Circle were all given full season orders. Each host guessed that Ringer would be given a full season, but since no word has been given as to whether or not the show will be renewed for a second season, everyone's points are up in the air! Sadly, the same cannot be said for Heart of Dixie: both Amby and Nikki guessed that it would be canceled Mid-season, leaving them with zero points added to their score. Matt and Cody still stand to add some points, however, as they both agreed the show would be given one season? but, as with Ringer, whether or not it will be renewed remains to be seen. Finally, each host guessed that The Secret Circle would be given a full season, but we will have to wait a few weeks to learn whether or not we will receive any points for our collective pick. Moving on to NBC, Free Agents was cancelled on October 6th, after only four episodes. Because each host guessed mid-season, everybody gets points! However, I'm not sure what's worse: cancelling a show after only four episodes, or placing repeats of the worst show of the 2011 season (Whitney) in its timeslot? Although the network's numbers are dwindling from week-to-week, NBC seems to have hope for both Prime Suspect and Harry's Law, as each show was given an additional six episodes for the season. However, the ratings seem to tell a different story: Prime Suspect's numbers continue to dwindle, making each host's prediction of a full, single-season pick up seem more and more unlikely. Likewise, the ratings for Harry's Law continue to decline in important demographics, making Matt's guess of cancellation after the current season plays out more likely than everyone else's guess of renewal. Meanwhile, CBS has treated How To Be a Gentleman pretty terribly. Although the show debuted to over 8 million viewers, those numbers weren't considered good enough for the network, and it was moved to Saturday, with its order cut down to 9 episodes. Following its Saturday premiere, the show brought in just over 2.3 million viewers, which gave CBS reason enough to cancel the series and leave six produced episodes unaired. Although Amby and Nikki believed the show would go the distance, they will receive no points; Cody guessed that it would be chopped mid-season, entitling him to the points; and Matt believed the show would not only get a full season pick-up, but that it would be renewed for a second season, so congratulations to Matt for making the worst pick of the draft! Finally, on FOX, a lot of debate was had in the last couple of weeks as to whether or not The Simpsons would return for a second season. We all knew that it was likely a huge publicity stunt, as it ended up being renewed for two more seasons. Of course, each host guessed it would be renewed, so they are entitled to receiving points.
