In this week's episode, Jason talks with Dr. Lincoln Larson and Torey Vayer about R3 efforts across the nation. Lincoln in an Associate Professor in the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management and NC State where he has spent 15 years studying diversity in outdoor recreation, with an emphasis on the recruitment and retention of "non-traditional" hunters. Torey recently completed her Master's degree in Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology under the direction of Dr. Larson. Her research has focused on understanding and influencing college students hunting related beliefs and behaviors. During the conversation, we will talk about their research into the human dimensions of natural resources and science communication as well as how they play a part in hunting. Other topics covered include hunting's place in American society, changing demographics, and the untapped pool of potential hunters we have at universities.
