Why Not Both is an exploration of how our multiple passions shape our identity, hosted by musician and therapist Pam Shaffer and produced by writer and photographer Laura Studarus. For our fourth season, we partnered up with Under The Radar to explore the lives of musicians, writers, actors, and creatives. It's not every day that you get to see someone's beloved coffee mug collection, but we expected nothing less when we hopped on Zoom to chat with John Grant at his Reykjavik home. As an artist, he wrestles with the confines of masculinity and the American dream that caused him to relocate to Iceland in the first place while as a person, he enthusiastically delves into the charming and esoteric delights that inspire him. We couldn't be more fortunate as an audience to engage with his narratives as they weave their way through his songs and stories, helping us find compassion for our own victories and failures along the way.
