Episode 54 of the Philly Sports Four for 4 Podcast....."I TOLD YOU"!!!! The Philadelphia Eagles lost their season opener to the Washington Football Team (yes you read that correctly) by a score of 27-17. The Eagles led the game 17-0 in the 2nd quarter and then proceeded to collapse. Despite some good from the Eagles, they played an overall bad game. They were mostly even on the team stats, but there were a few keys things that led to this loss. Key Points to Consider: -EIGHT sacks against Carson Wentz -THREE turnovers (compared to ZERO takeaways by the Eagles Defense) -Difficulty running the football (were out rushed 80 yds to 59 yds with most of the yardage coming on one drive in the 3rd quarter) -Injuries (mainly to the offensive line) BUT, the main reason for this loss was because of the erratic play of Carson Wentz and the lack of adjustments by Doug Pederson. Carson Started the game 14/17 for 185 yds and 2 TDs and ended the game 10/25 for 85 yds and 2 ints. The Eagles need better play from their Franchise QB (who some consider to be Elite).
