ONE MINUTE REMAININGepisode three ⋆ time passing in prison vs. the outside worldI’m in love with an inmate. Sebastian, my partner, has been incarcerated since February 2019. I’ve been quite silent about this hardship because there is a heavy stigma attached to those in + out of the criminal system. I’ve carried a lot of shame + judgement of my own about this strange circumstance I find myself in but I’m sick of my own negativity. What a better way to flip the script on our federally recorded phone calls than to share what life on the inside is really like + how choosing to commit to a prisoner effects my day to day.In episode three we discuss:⋆ How does the time go by when in prison?⋆ Seb discusses the 6 month shift⋆ Adaptability is human nature and inmates learn how to get comfortable.⋆ That time Seb got jumped bc other inmates thought he was having sex in the shower with another man⋆ How races stick together no matter what⋆ I worry now that Seb is comfortable, he’s becoming a better criminal, not a reformed man⋆ Does getting comfortable in prison make the time go quicker or simply connect deeper to your humanity?⋆ How important body language and confidence plays in how well you’ll fit in with other inmates⋆ How can I trust Sebastian when he’s out and on probation if he can’t commit to be law abiding while in prison?⋆ We discuss the portrayal of the prison system in the media & Hollywood⋆ Why does society choose to turn a blind eye to the broken prison system?⋆ Kaleigh talks about how this experience has been spiritually liberating and still extremely difficult.⋆ “You can’t watch water boil” — we discuss the differences on how time passes for Kaleigh and Sebastian.⋆ Kaleigh talks about how she takes advantage of the time alone and how to take good care of herself.⋆ Gets V emotional at the endaudio version: #oneminuteremaining
