This is definitely a challenging time but I do feel it’s also a massive opportunity for us to examine our lives our current situations and look for ways that we can positively make changes to propel us forward to living a more authentic and fulfilling life. Like you, I often feel that my days blur into the next and that the day is not my own rather controlled by the myriad of responsibilities we have like our job, family, kids or other circumstances.  None of those things are bad but when we feel out of control, like our life is not our own, that’s when frustration and hopelessness set in and we feel like we are living our life just going through the motions. There are different times in our lives when we feel this way.  I know for me and many of my coaching client this is a common feeling when you’re at the midpoint of their career and the kids are at the age when they are demanding a lot of attention. Others feel this when they are being swallowed up by the pressures of a career or starting a business and they’ve lost their passion and focus. The problem is that most of us are overwhelmed, overworked, tired and just trying to get through the day with the little time we have.  As a result, there is never enough focus to create the momentum and ultimately the change we need to architect the life we want and feel the energy that comes from living and working authentically. This is a loss of control and there are a few things you can do today to gain back control and start taking step to stop going through the motions and start living a life by your design. Number 1 - identify what has taken control away from you? And (2) what does control mean to you? The definition of control is the power to influence or direct people's behavior or the course of events. So, I’ll ask what is influencing your day, your actions and your behaviors?
