The book is titled Why We Sleep and is written by Matthew Walker, PHD. He is, in fact, British (not Swedish) and works as a professor of neuroscience and psychology at UC Berkeley. The extensive study he has conducted on sleep started in 1996, and while he does draw from science published over many years in addition to his own studies, his personal research was not 30 years long as I said.
