Episode 62 of the conversations between Dr. Yogita Pant and Dr. Anil Chawla describes the events following successful completion of Raajsooy Yagy. When Maharshi Ved Vyas was departing, Yuddhishthir asked Maharshi whether all disturbances had ended with the killing of Shishupaal. Maharshi smiled and said that troubles have just started and would continue for thirteen years. At the end of it, there would be massive destruction of Kshatriyas. The destruction will be centred on Yuddhishthir, will be caused by the crime of Duryodhan and will end by the bravery of Bheem and Arjun. This disturbed Yuddhishthir enormously and he thought of committing suicide but was stopped from taking the extreme step. Duryodhan went around seeing the great conference hall built for Raajsooy Yagy. Where there was no water, he thought that the place had water. And where there was a pond, he stepped as if it was just an illusion. He was ridiculed and laughed at by Paandav brothers excluding Yuddhishthir. On the way back to Hastinaapur, Duryodhan was burning with jealously and insult. He wanted to die if he could not get hold of the riches of Paandavs. Shakuni, his maternal uncle, suggested that Duryodhan could snatch all the wealth of Paandavs by defeating them in a game of dice. Mahabharat and Valmiki Ramayan are the two fundamental foundation epics of Hinduism. Mahabharat teaches one about every aspect of life. The struggle in the epic is the clash between two different life-values. Dwaipaayan Krishn and Vaasudev Krishn put in relentless and continuous efforts to establish and strengthen the same fundamental values and ideals for which Ram fought the war against Raavan. By learning and understanding this story and by adopting the learnings into our behaviour we can make our life happy and rich.
