Despite pursuing a career as a professional golfer, Michigan Women’s Head Coach Jan Dowling always felt she wanted to get into coaching. She is a self-proclaimed golf nerd, and the impact her college coach at Kent State made on her left a lasting impression. When offered the chance to join the Kent State program as their assistant coach, she made the move into college coaching. Finishing up her 7th season at Michigan, Coach Dowling and her team were just gaining some momentum as the season came to such an unexpected end due to the COVID-19 virus. She talks about the emotional end to the season and all that she has learned over her time as a college coach.
