Capitalism has become digitalised in the past 20-30 years and has turned into what scholars and the media often call “surveillance capitalism”, which is an umbrella term for all of the public’s private behaviour, decisions and movement, monitored, recorded in digital prints, and monaterised into mere “products” of data for capitalistic purposes.Big techs have distorted what choice means for the public, automated and taken control of social systems and citizens’ preferences.
