The vast majority of people with mental health symptoms wait 10 years from the beginning of their symptoms to discuss it with their provider and begin any active treatment. And many patients state that this is because they simply were not asked about depression by their provider. During those 10 years, a patient’s depression, which has many good treatments, can become well rooted and highly disruptive to a patient’s life, including: work, family and other chronic medical conditions, making everything harder to treat. Thus early identification is key- please tune into this podcast to learn from Dr. Carson Felkel how the PHQ, a quick and easy depression screening, can assist you in early identification of depression to provide Good Help to your patients.
